My sisters golden retriever has been having loose stools since saturday after eating a bit of cat stools she has put him on chicken and rice but he still cant keep this in.  When my husky has a bad tummy i give her raw meat and a bit of bio yoghurt now she is 3yrs and i can feed her anything and not had a problem for 1 1\2yrs i dont want to give my sister this advice as the pup is only 14 weeks. can anyone advise my sister what to do for the best but without going to the vet as im not keen on pups having injections just for stomach upsets.  Thankyou visitor.

I would starve him for 24 hrs. Just let him have water & nothing else. Then give him about 25% of his normal food & gradually build up to his normal amount. If that doesn't help or he seems unwell she should take him to the vet.
