It would be far better to get one pup at a time. Landseer Newfies are not that common and if you are considering breeding them (which I assume is why you want a dog and a bitch from different litters) then it is not just a matter of buying two dogs and putting them together. You must remember that Newfies will reach a good 12 stone in weight when fully grown and to have 2 of them going through adolescence at the same time will be a nightmare and of course as they are a large breed you would have to keep them separate when the girl comes into season for AT LEAST 2 years which could be upto 4 seasons. Breeding just for colour is not advisable. It may be worth getting a Landseer bitch first allow her to develop get her tested for the relevant tests (hearts, hips and elbows I think) then finding a compatable stud dog with good test results that carries the landseer markings (not a brown of course) and go from there.

You are unlikely to find a reputable breeder willing to sell you a puppy knowing that you plan to have two at the same time, especially of the oppposite sex, in case of accidental/irresponsible breeding!

Why do you want two pups? Also pups of opposite sex will be hard to manage when the bitch is in season, as one or other will need to be securely confined away from the others. this will be upsetting for them, as two pups brought up together will be more attached to each other than to you!

If you are looking for two companions, I would sugest you have at least 3 years age gap, and have a same sex pair or have one or both neutered.

One way of doingthis is to first obtain an adult rescue, and after you are happy with your relationship, and the dog has had six months or so to settle with you, then you could purchase a puppy as a companion, and have the enjoyment of puppy rearing, with experience of owning the breed already. :D
