WE ARE LOOKING FOR A SUITABLE COCKER SPANIEL STUD DOG FOR WHEN OUR BITCH COMES INTO SEASON LATER THIS YEAR. WE LIVE IN SOUTH DEVON AND SO FAR HAVE HAD NO JOY IN FINDING A 'LOCAL' DOG. PLEASE HELP !  allisonshouse@btinternet.com

It is by sods law rare to find the most suitable dog locally!!!

You should contact your bitch's breeder (assuming here that they are reputable and knowledgeable) who will advise whcih lines work best with those of your bitch.  She is then likley to give you an idea of which males would suit her.

If your bitches breeder soes not have this knowledge, then maybe contact your nearest breed club and find out if a member near you would be willing to advise whether you bitch is of breeding quality, and what might be a suyitable stud.

I am here of course assuming the bi5tch has been eye tested by a qualified Opthalmologist under the KC/BVA healths scheme for eyes, and ideally has been Hip Scored *your own vet can do this and send plates off to BVA for their panel to assess), and also that she will be over two years of age when you plan for her to have a litter.
