if i mated a dalmation with a english setter, would i get long coated dalamtions??

No, you'd get a crossbreed. Possibly inheriting the worst points and health problems of both breeds. Both are prone to deafness, for starters. It would be a silly thing to do. :(

Can I just say that I know someone that mated two different breeds together. She got 4 pups that were deformed. Two missing back legs altogether. When you cross breed you are really messing with the genetics of these dogs. Also you wont be having them health tested and you could end up with a disaster on your hands.
