Hi
I made a rare visit to my local pet shop and wished I'd stayed away.
2 notices in the window were people looking for stud dogs for there bitches no papers necessary.
The shop assistant was praising a customer for taking a puppy from a local rescue group, the new
owner just got a 6week lab/gsd cross pup .
The assistant then proceeded to tell all in the shop that her boyfriend who has a Staffie bitch was mating it next
week to his mates dog so he can sell the puppies to pay for the bitch to be neutered?????????
His mum was trying to find the bitches papers so he could get more money for the pups!!!!
Knowing what it costs to breed a litter I think it would be cheaper to go to the vet without
producing a litter on the way.
Think I'll stick to buying from the shows and supermarket, it was a less than friendly reply when I advised
agains't breeding for money.

Regards

Beggars belief about casually mating dogs for money dosent it? Hopefully the rescue will keep an eye on the little pup & his/her new owner - maybe there was a reason for weaning him early, like the bitch not having enough milk?
