You might remember that last year my mum took on a difficult rescue pup which wasn't really suitable for her, although lovely dog (he was thankfully successfully rehomed to someone more able to deal with him). However, last night what did I catch her doing?? Looking in the local paper at the "pups for sale" column. Ahhhhh! After a good telling off, I managed to persuade her that if she wants a pedigree dog she's a) going to have to find a decent breeder and b) going to have to pay the going rate. The amount of so called cross breeds (i.e. mongrels) that are being sold in the paper for big prices is a nonsense. She's also considering our local dogs trust rescue centre, which I think she'd be much better getting a dog from as they are very careful about matching dog to owner. Just a warning folks to be careful what the parents are up to :D :D
