Hi there! I would start by saying the most important social aspect of your dogs life is her relationship with you. How much time is she alone during the day/week. If she has a "sad" look she may be feeling a bit hormonal. Has she had her first season yet? Some females are a bit more sensitive to hormonal fluctuations. She may also be feeling a bit "off". Is she healthy in all other aspects? You might want to speak to your vet if you are really concerned. I would finally say that breeding your dog at the age of 6 mo is a bit like letting your teenage daughter have a child when she first starts menstruating. Although the hormones are there, she isn't physically or mentally mature enough to cope with pregnancy. Hope that doesn't sound too crude, but that's the easiest way for me to explain it.

I dont want to breed my dog now i no that it is to soon i think you took what i said the wrong way.She is only on her own 2 days a week from 9:30 till 5:00 she has the hole house to run around .She has only been like this the past week the vet did say it was because she is coming into season for the first time.I do have a good relationship with my dog we go on walks and we always play with her in the garden .we go to dog class ever week.

Hi there,
Just read your post from a while ago, i have a SBT bitch who was sulky from a pup. I know of 3 other staffys who suffer the same "moods" i'm no expert but i think SOME saffys are a bit moody. I now have a little brother for my girl and she is a changed dog. I am with her alot and we have a great relationship, but bringing the new pup home has made a real difference to her and me. The LOOK she gives me when i have to go out, I don't get anymore she seems alot more happy and content
I understand all dogs are different but though i try and pass on my own experiences
