Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / Weimaraner Puppy
- By Kerrie O [gb] Date 05.02.04 15:51 UTC
I have a weimaraner puppy and he is 19 weeks old.  I feed him three times a time, morning, lunch and evening.  At present I am feeding him on Pedigree Chum Puppy mixed with JWB (soaked).  I have been told today that Pedigree is no good - his stools are quite runny and he said that Pedigree chum is probably the reason for his.  He said to get him of that and feed in on JWB only - soaked.  Can only help me on this matter.  I have tried all the books/internet to find out any information.  Also, when do i drop down to two meals a day?

Please help

Hi Kerry welcome to the wonderful world of Weimaraners :D

I would try Burns http://www.burns-pet-nutrition.co.uk/ if you are looking for an excellent complete dry food (meat, rice and veggies) or Naturediet for a complete wet food (also containing the same ingredients).  If you do a search on either of these you will find many satisfied customers on this site. I see you are feeding JWB at the moment which some people have a lot of success with, although as it is "complete" I would not add anything to it.

I would not feed pedigree myself.  Whether you soak your dry food or not is a matter of personal choice.

I would continue 3 meals a day until around 6 months or when my dog demonstrated he was not hungry; although this is rare in a Weimaraner! :D

Hope that helps :D
