They are going to cost YOU
You will need whelping box, food, heating, vet trips, etc etc
this is so long as the bitch is okay otherwise the skys your limit on
what your going to spend :-( she is STILL a pup herself
and without knowing what the dad is your pups arent worth anything really

To be honest, it will cost you about £1000 to raise the litter properly, and you may get £50 per puppy, because they're from a too-young bitch and who knows what the father/s is/are.

Very expensive!!  You will probably find that no matter what you will NEVER get enough to cover your costs for rearing that litter especailly if she has problems delivering and the vet checks after the birth can be quite costly.  If they are of mixed breed then as has already been stated you will probably have difficulties giving them away.

I would seriously recommend that in future to prevent this sort of thing happening you either get her spayed or you ensure that there is no way for her to get out of your garden and DO NOT leave her unattended.

I suggest if she is pregnant and has the litter ...after they are fully weaned and old enough you hand them into a reputable rescue with a donation to help make sure they find the best homes they can.

Donna's suggestion is excellent. It would be the easiest and cheapest way out for you. Then I would suggest you get your bitch spayed to avoid the same thing happening again.

Guest,

I bred my first litter of German Shepherd puppies last year.  They were from top quality, health tested parents...and I didn't make a penny.

There were no problems with either mum or the pups...but to raise a litter properly, costs a lot of money.

If you're bitch is pregnant, and it sounds like she is....you're not going to make any money from her at all.  The best thing you can do now is look after your bitch.  Make sure she's in excellent health, and keep her comfortable and well fed.

The post about handing the pups over to a rescue organisation is a good one.  You should consider it.

Then for heaven sake, try and keep your bitch in when she's in season.  Or better still have her speyed.

some how I can't imagine that when this bitch has been allowed to get out and produce a litter at this age that this bitch and the puppies will get any better treatment when they're born. Can;t imagine they'll get the best of anything never mind everything.
Hope I'm wrong
