Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / Waiting nearly over?

Last night my girl decided voluntairily (spelling is useless) to get into her whelping pit.  At 3:10 this morning went downstairs as couldn't sleep properly and found shreds of her bed across the pit.  I had also put some shredded paper down and that was in a nice pile in the middle.  I let her out to go to the toilet armed with a torch just in case and she ran straight back into her pit.

I took her temperature and it was down to 96.9 and then I took it again about an hour ago and it has gone back up to 97.5.  She is sleeping quite a lot at the moment and when she wakes up she is shredding her bedding and moving it around.  She is looking very sorry for herself and I wish I could help her more.  She is refusing to eat and yesterday she would only have something to drink if she licked it off my fingers.  She is not even doing that today.

Tam is breathing heavily and licking herself a lot.  She is 62 days today.

Just out of curiosity when I am working out her due date for her next season am I right in presuming that you work it out from the last day of her last season?  I have to ask as I have never owned an unspayed bitch before and this is my first litter.

Thanks for any information you can give or any advice that you may have at this stage.

Naomi
