A chap at work recently got married and his photographs were fantastic, some were shown as a mixture of both colour and black and white.Does anyone know which software may have been used to get this effect? One that I liked the most was of the old fashioned bridal car being in colour and the background, including the guests throwing the confetti were all in black and white,it looked very dramatic. Think all but the most basic would do this, you have to mask the part to remain coloured and turn the rest to gray scale mode then reunit the two parts, then turn the whole thing back to RGB. Not as simple as it sounds but think you will get the idea.
If you look at PC magazines, quite often on the cover CD's they have free photo effects programs, they're are worth getting, they make things easier. The photographer probably used a program called Adobe photoshop, its mega expensive and quite complicated to use, but the standard for proffesionals

I've got Adobe photoshop and Paintshop, and to be honest I find Paintshop good enough for most things. Adobe has so much stuff its like a mine field ploughing through it all.
