Hello everyone!I'm new on here and I have a question.I know a little about dogs, but I can't figure this one out.I hope someone can help me.My 10 week old shih tzu is sick.Yesterday morning he was fine.At lunchtime he became less playful and started throwing up.In the vomit, there were little black peices of something. His food is an off white color.I don't know what this could be.To my knowledge he hasn't gotten into anything.I don't know what the black peices could be.He's a little better this morning, but not even close to normal. He won't eat much and his stools are a little runny.Anybody have any ideas.Thanks,Zoey.:)

Hi Zoey, it sounds like he has eaten something that he shouldn't have, if he gets any worse or you are at all worried then i would take him to the vet, its best to be safe than sorry...does he seem to be in any pain??

If he's not better by morning,I do plan to take him to the vet.I don't think he's in pain.He doesn't mind being held,if I go pick him up,but he won't come when I call him.Yesterday he wouldn't even look at me when I called his name. Now he just looks at me.I've felt around his whole body and I'm sure he's not in pain.

Hi Zoey,
It sure does sound like he ate something that upset his tummy. Don't feed him anymore today, but give him as much water as he wants. His tum needs a chance to rest.
Tomorrow give him rice and chicken. You can simmer the chicken in water, remove and debone and shred fine. Then you can use the same water to boil the rice. Mix it together. Keep him on this for a couple of days.
Obviously if you don't see any improvement tomorrow or he gets worse, take him to the vet.

Thank you Stacey.I will try that.If he doesn't want to eat by tomorrow,I'll take him on to the vet.I just hope its nothing serious,I don't know what I'd do without my baby. Thanks
