My partner Dave keeps complaining that he is an internet widower (impossible we're not married).
So the other day I didn't come on the net at all. I sat beside him while we watched TV.
We had lots of lovely cuddles. I got up occassionally to make coffee, lunch, more coffee and then dinner.
I went out for a while when the dogs wanted walks, fed them, fed the cats the ferrets and the degu's.
We watched all the old programmes on Gold and Gold2.
No house work got done, it's a mess.
He told me to go back on the net yesterday 'cos now Dave says that I talked all the way through his programmes.
Can somebody tell me how ( other than the obvious) I can keep him happy???

P.S. We are a very happy couple really.

Your doing fine D4wn, giving him something to moan about :D Sorry, Im jaundiced at the mo as himself is off to rugby tomorrow at 4 pm and has just announced the Saturday programme - up early to walk dog and do monthly shop, lunch and then hes off to meet pals for Rugby leaving yours truly with a shed load of shopping, kids to the rafters and the usual washing/ironing/peacekeeping. HUH!

That's exactly what I do.  Pretend I'm watching T.V.  with him.  Make an odd comment about the news.  Say things like "that was a good film" when I haven't got a clue what it was about.

Like Jacki our computer is in the living room so we are in the same room.
Dave's not really bad I just wondered if anyone else had had compaints.
Before my son moved back home, 4 mths ago, we didn't have a PC. My son is a Microsoft IT professional, get wrong if I don't put his full title, he set up a 6 unit network around the house so there's a PC in every room now.
Since Sean moved back in he has paid the 'phone line and for the internet, as he needs the net for his work, and I have become addicted.
Before this Dave and I were always snuggled up on the settee as there was nought to do. Not all day you understand just evenings.
I've cracked it now though. While he watches his football and the 'oldies' on Gold I go on the net, after all he can't hear otherwise, if there's something I want to watch I come off and sit with him.
And if he has a couple of cans he couldn't be happier. Oh!!  Except if he could watch TV, have a couple of cans, I was sat beside him and I didn't keep talking dogs/ferrets throughout his programs.

AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  What a difficult life I live! When this is my only problem.

At the moment.

It's easy really; get the other half on permanent night shift and also get cable/sky tv that has loads of football and horse racing to distract him when not actually at work or sleeping. Then magnanimously yield up access to the computer for the odd 15 minutes at a time to let him check out the latest odds and make his daily choices for his fantasy betting thingy.  Sorted :D
