We own a 3 year old Maltese which seems to be losing weight. She weighed 260kgs before xmas and is now 240kgs, she seems happy in herself and has no change of diet although we have noticed her being sick in the gaden a couple of times after eating. We have taken her to the vets who says to see how things go over the next 2 weeks. Then he will do some blood tests. Does anyone have any ideas we are so worried about her.

Hope the weight is a misprint?!! I can't work out any possible combination of the numbers that may be right, except maybe 2.6kg and 2.4kg which seems a bit light.

Hi sorry yes the weights you quote are the correct ones

Maybe try feeding her several meals to see if that helps stop her being sick? Has the food you use been changed in any way, I've heard of dogs being upset occassionaly by new improved formulas.

Thanks for replying, her diet is Nutro for sensitive stomachs which she has been on since coming off puppy food. Will have to wait and see but just have an inkling all is not well. Fingers crossed I'm wrong.

Mittens, she must be 1 tiny dog?I cant imagine how little she would be  I have shih-tzu's and their inbetween 5.6 and 7.5 kilo. The weight loss could be due to a number of different things you will have to wait and see what the tests show, hopefully she will improve between now and then.
good luck,i hope your baby will be o.k.
