I've got a rescue baby here. He's been with us since he was 12 weeks. He's now 8mth. I have just had him castrated.
He has a home to go to. With my Parents.
They have 3 neutered bitches, very quiet, 3 cats, he's used to cats.
He needs to be checked on Monday.
When will it be safe to introduce him to his new home.
Even though my Parents are taking him he has not been introduced to their girls. He is quite dominant. My parents girls are not dominant.
Robyn is fantastic with cats. I can't see a problem with the cats. I'm a little worried about one of my Mums girls.
How long should we give it to see if they are going to settle??
I know it can take 2-3 mths for the hormones to settle.
Should I let my Parents to take him before that?? Or should I wait until this time has elapsed??
Robyn argues constantly with my neutered males. MY boys don't usually argue.
I must add that if he doesn't settle he can come back to us. No matter who he were homed with.

mabe you could get your parents to meet you somewhere on a walk with the dog and bitches let bitch who you think is going to be ok with him meet him then if all goes well see how the other is with him , i think its better then letting the meet take place in a house:)

It can take a month to six weeks for a rescue dog to settle in a new home.
You tend to have a honeymoon period of about three weeks and then the dog settles and shows his "normal" behaviour.

Good luck
