Has anyone been on holiday with Key Camp Holidays.
I'm thinking of going to the south of France through them, and just wondered if anyone could tell me what they thought of the camps and facilities.
Also if anyone has travelled quite a long way by car, and had to use there stop over camps. What were they like, and how was the journey.
Thanks, Michelle.

Hi,
I took 4 children on a Keycamp holiday last year and it was fantastic we had a grand 29
lovely and clean the staff could not be more helpful. We were in Brittany however we are planning on going to Barcelonia next year driving down spending one night in Toulouse and carrying on driving the next day, 16 nts in all, spending 14 nts in their new villa range air con, doule glazing helps with sound reduction etc. These holidays represent excellent value for money and excellent service. We have had quite a few friend said all the same.
You will have a fantastic time enjoy your holiday.

2 years ago we went to Spain with our 2 small children, stayed in the best caravan (Grand?) it had 3 bedroom with a bathroom, nice shower, constant hot water, was all lovely and clean. Site wasn't the best, but it was one of the smaller ones with lower ratings, we popped into one of the other ones on the way to the airport and that was much better. Do make sure they have the facilities you want, eg kids clubs, and that the beach is sandy if you want that. Go for it, you will have a great time, and meet lots of people
Very expensive in the summer months though, and if you want some of the better accommodation you really need to book up early

Thanks,
Yes I'm looking at all camps carefully so I'l pick a good one, I want a lively one near the beach if possible.
It's the travelling thats worring me, as I'd like to go to the South of France, Just wondering how many stops and days to spread it over. We are travelling from the North East so it is about a 5 to 6 hour journey to Dover then an 1 1/2 hour crossing, I think. Then I think its about 12 hours to the South of France.
Has anyone been to Southern France, if so, where. Is there plenty to entertain an 11yr and 8yr old.
Michelle.

Depends what you mean by entertainment and where exactly you go. I expect the camp sites have all the usual bikes, ping pong, pools etc
There are the Gorge du Loup which are fairly spectacular to drive/bike/walk through; the perfume houses of Grasse, they could take up boules/petanque, go and see a bull fight occasionally a bit further along. Go and see where the Le Mans motor race takes place, see the Monaco Zoo, public swimming pool, changing of the guard, water skiing , etc etc. There is a fantastic place in Nice which does fresh made pizzas in a proper oven, my favourite is the one with mussels!
Eze Village is a great place to visit and eat and so is St Paul de Vince;

As a kid, (so wot, errrrrr 15/16 years ago) i went on a few Keycamp holidays.....
Certainly from a kids point of view, they get the thumbs up!
We stayed in a big tent, but they have beds in, a barbeque and stuff for cooking, there was a kids entertainment thing every morning, which was basic but ok.
I think my parents liked it because you could go off and do your own thing if you wanted to, (mmm my dad took to going out cycling, with his binoculars.....till my mum discovered he was cycling past the nudist beach!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o )
Pretty good, though i daresay its changed a bit, and it does depend on the site you pick.

I'll keep away from the camp you went to then, don't want to be left on my own with the kids while other half pretends to take up cycling.
Thanks Tohme for the info. I'll give the bull fighting a miss though, definitely not for me.
Michelle.
