Hi
Just wondering if someone could point me in the right direction for a glucosamine / chondroitin (sp?) supplement.
I am considering these two:
Joint Genie - Glucosamine Liquid - The Magic is in the Bottle Joint Genie is a convenient way of taking Glucosamine without the fuss or distress of taking large, hard to swallow tablets. One serving is equivalent to taking three 500mg tablets. Extensive research indicates that a liquid is absorbed much quicker than tablets or capsules, which can reduce the amount absorbed to less than 20%. With liquids, the amount absorbed is as much as 90%. Contains real fruit juice, easy to swallow liquid, 1500mg Glucosamine per 10mg concentrated serving, quick absorbency.
or
These tablets each contain 500mg of pure pharmaceutical grade Glucosamine sulphate. This substance is a major building block of the complex proteins called Glycosaminoglyans which in turn form part of the structure of your cartilage. In its natural form, it exists in all your joints and muscles, playing a vital role in the everyday mobility and smooth working of your cartilage, tendons and ligaments. Each tablets also contains 100mg of pharmaceutical grade Chondroitin sulphate (a substance that is found naturally in the cartilage 216;matrix').
Recommended daily intake Three tablets per day with food.
The first one doesn't have chondroitin in it but is a liquid which has got to be easier! They are a similar price.
Ossie (GSD) doesn't have any problems yet but with his history (now that we know) and also the fact that we do agility with him I would rather get him onto a supplement early and prevent any harm that I can.
Thanks
Jayne
Hi Jayne,
I would probably go for the first one, the liquid one. I use Cortavet which is sort of the same thing, which comes in a spray bottle. I just spray it on the dogs food and off we go.
Cheers
Ali :)
