hi everyone, my bitch is 9 months old and in her first season,she went into it on the first of january,but she is still bleeding now.i thougt that her season lasted for 21 days but in an akita book that i read it says that they last for 28 days.she hasn't bled the whole time,but the day after she went into season we were going on holiday,so we took her back to the breeder to look after her,when we got her back a week later there was no bleeding but it started again a few days later,and it is still continuing.is possible that she would have stopped her season when we took her to the breeder,and then resumed it again once back with us? any advice would be greatly appreciated.

21 days is just the average - meaning there are many bitches that have shorter seasons and many that have longer seasons.   There's no cause to worry, some bitches stop bleeding half way through their season .. other's keep at it longer, or stop and start.  Ain't nature wonderful :-)
