Well mine do!  Best to get a pup from a breeder who has a cat/cats, so the pup will be cat proofed (by the cat) before it comes to you.  My cat teaches pups "catequette" - dont bite, dont roll cat over (unless it offers) dont chase cat unless it starts game, never pull cats tail, dont yap at cats, dont dribble water over sleeping cat when you have just had a drink, dont pull cats hair out.  Seems to work fine with no intervention from me - my pups are all perfectly at home with any cat, and rarely push the boundaries far enough to upset the alredy resident cat wehn moving to a new home.
bye

My cat often chooses to sleep in the kennel with my cocker.  They get on very well although the cocker can be a little boisterous.  The cat is top dog though, no question!

The cat is very 'dog friendly' although does get on the defensive when faced with my two and my neighbours four all in the garden at once.  It's as much to do with 'will the cat cope?' as it is to do with the dog.
