If a dog has ticks and when you go to pull it out (correctly) and it is already dead, does the dog still get the same effect of a live tick? Infection, etc?

I guess it would depend if the tick was alive and imbedded in the skin when it died?  In my past I had 3 dogs with ticks  (ticks were in some New  Wood Mulch I spread all over my garden)  anyway,  my dogs were covered in them.  So was my house it drove me absolutely CRAZY!  But after about 3 solid months of "freaking out" ( I would actually sit in on the floor in my den and pick ticks with tweezers  off my dogs and drop them in a bowl of alcohol,  every night),   My dogs never even got a slight,  infection from them, nor did they get any virus.  But these were wood ticks, I don't know if that makes a difference.    Hope this is helpful

If a tick is dead it releases the mouth parts and drops off. What did you treat the tick with?
