Spice is now 14weeks and has decided she doesn't want 4 meals daily, she won't eat breakfast and eats about 1/2 her meal at midday, but at tea-time around 4.30pm she eats it all, then at 8pm. she eats about 1/2 the amount again. She is gaining weight at about 2lb a week (she's a border collie)she now weighs about 8kg.
We have her on a dried food diet and have replaced some of the amount at tea-time with a ped.chum puppy pouch.
Treats are given rarely and are raw carrot or her kong with some cheese and a bit of her 'left-over' food.
We remove her bowl when she loses interest.
She is as bouncy as ever and I know the manufacturers often recommend more than the average dog/puppy might eat,so should we just let her decide how much she eats or should we introduce more variety in her diet?
Thanks for any advice,
Jacqueline.

If shes not eating then why not start cutting her down to 3 meals aday, you will find she is proberly not eating t all because she is not hungery!

Also don't worry about her getting fat, as long as she doen't get really bad I have always kept puppies chubby!!!

my BC was the same at that age he just kept wasting all his food lol! now at 7mths he is only eating one meal a day (in the evening) and has lots of treats for training/walking/playtime throughout the day so he is still getting fed plenty! and the running he has keeps his weight ok, even though at his last weigh in at 6 mths he was 15kg!! as he is a big BC for his age and is still growing lol but the vet assured us he is healthy and definitely not overweight so your dog should be fine :)

Thanks for the reassurance, today she ate 3 meals! and had a good run around full of energy and bounce! We hope to get her on 2 meals a day eventually am and teatime,as we did with our previous collie x,but I'm sure she'll let us know what she prefers ;)
