My westie is now 10months and is due to go to the vet. Is it wise to get him chipped. Someone said its quite sore for them. The other thing is we said we would talk about castrating him aswell as he was being over friendly with covers and teddys but he seems to have calmed down a lot so I don't want to if I don't have to will it make a difference to his health though?

Regarding the chipping, my two didn't even notice it !
They were more interested in the biscuit I was holding. :)

Hi, I put off microchipping my cocker spaniel (now 5 monthe) as I had heard it would hurt and had decided to wait until I got him neutered but his recall wasn't any good so took him along to vets 3 weeks ago to get chipped and he didn't feel a thing, don't think he even noticed. :)

Bonking covers and teddies is all part of growing up, he will grow out of it, if you give him time.

i do chipping it just like having a injection,i can not see what all the fuss is about.

some of us "fuss" about our dogs as they are like our children, a slight worry and concern if they hurt. feel pain.
But i was wrong with our girl to be nervous as she did'nt flinch.
now i know what to expect if in the future i get another i wont be so motherly.

I guess it was just the way i read your post about "whats the fuss"
I obviously took it the wrong way so i appologise.
It is a touchy subject especially for me as i always fuss about my pup im only human after all and i guess im turning into a worry-pot. Probably the same as most on here.
