I have 2 male gsds older 1 is 5 years old the younger 1 is 11months old he is definately dominated by the older dog no problems before but a week ago the younger dog went for a female lab whilst out for a walk pinned her to the ground by the neck he didnt draw blood but it was almost impossible to make him let go of her which frightened me about not having full control of him he has been fine with the other dog and us his family as loving as ever but now Im worried that he will do this again we have even thought about giving him to police which is a heartbreaking situation for us as he is such a lovely family dog, the older dog is castrated do you think it would be wise to get the younger one done as well, I would really appreciate some advise on this or hear from someone who has had a similar experience.

with thanks

May I suggest that you contact your local British Association For German Shepherd Dogs as soon as possible. They will be able to advise you on this matter and offer help. These are breed experts and will be able to assess your dog and offer you the best course of action. Good luck.

I would seek proffesional advice but in the mean time PLEASE keep your dog on a lead at all times..there is nothing more distressing than being out with your well behaved dog and having it attacked by an out of control dog.
Good luck,Archer
