Last week when we were out walking I made the mistake of walking around a deep puddle of water (got muddy instead of wet) now Dexter thinks its a No No to walk through water puddles and does whatever he can to avoid them - side steps/leaps over/hop on two legs you name it he does it! It was especially annoying when I wanted him to walk through puddles nearer to home so that his feet wouldn't be too muddy to clean at the kitchen door! Little Monkey!

Hi Lee, can you tell me how to teach Bailey that one? He sploshes through puddles one way then turns around and sploshes through the other way, and I'm talking top speed too.

Hudson (7.5 stone Alaskan Malamute) will try his darndest to NOT walk through puddles as well. Also ..he will NOT sit in wet weather ..he does a sort of hover with his bum about 5cm above the wet ground!

Glazby does the hovering thing too in wet weather - doesn't want to get his bum damp!!

He also tries to avoid puddles but if he is unlucky and gets a paw wet he daintily shakes it as he walks off!!

Hiya
Can you teach my lot this please!  We went across the fields today and there was a huge puddle, I mean huge, nearly pond sized.  dizzy's eyes lit up when she saw it and she went charging in promptly followed by the border terrier I walk and they rolled around in it and got soaked, the sheltie pup then followed them in but didn't quite know what to do when she was in :-D
