I just had to share this with all of you.
As you know Dolly my BC among some of her bad habits one of them was pulling!!!!!, well yesterday we bought a harness for her and she didn't pull at all, it was almost like not even holding her, what a result.
It beats having my arm torn off!
Jo
It takes some getting used to dosent it? I thought Morse had vanished the first time he walked without pulling. Now we need to tone out=r upper arms with exercises instead of walking the dogs. :D

I hated taking my 5 mth old BC for a walk as she pulled something terrible. By the time we got to the beach my arm was aching, my fingers were sore and I was in a temper. I then tried a Halti, which Rose didn't like at all. I also didn't like it as I worried about it riding up near her right eye. She also kept pulling backwards to try and get it off and would rub up against my legs, nearly tripping me up. Another BC owner saw me out one day and suggested a harness and like you I was shocked. Rose now only pulls as we are approaching the beach, which is understandable. Other than that, the transformation is miraculous. I now enjoy taking her out for a walk, as I am not worried about her collar strangling her! The Halti works for some dogs, but Rose seems much happier on the harness.

That's impressive - what harness is it?
Hi Digger
It's called Hi-Craft, and it's a stop pull harness with soft sleeves, it was designed by George Grayson.

oh yes, that's a lovely harness - so many others (naming no names ;)) rely on inflicting discomfort (or worse) to stop the dog pulling - this one alters the dogs balance in a gentle way.
Is it a special harness or a normal padded one - where did you get it from?
Hi
It's just a normal padded one I think, just padded around the leg area where it could rub.
I got it from Pets at Home, in Swindon, but I'm sure if you do a search they'll be others near you.

i used to hate walking my dogs because theypulled like mad till i bought a halti............... gosh there good....
theyve never pulled again
Will a halti suit a miniature schnauzer? They have quite small faces.
Hi
They have different sizes, small, medium and large and they are adjustable to.
Jo
Hi
Here in Denmark, we have halties in every size you could wish for. I've seen it in use, but haven't got one myself. But the dogtrainer I saw, who sold them, had them hanging in sizes, that would fi,t anything from a dachshund or similar sized dog to a really big dog like a dog de bordeaux, rottie etc.
So good luck
