I've just got a 14mth old toy york.ter.from my sister who owns the parents.I've chance for another pup (just born) but would like one of the opposite sex to what I have.BUT |'m afraid they may mate at a later date & as they would be brother & sister,I'm not sure IF this is wrong. Although they are about 14mths apart. Can anyone tell me if it's wrong to mate? with thanks. Will I have to have the female doctored?

Yes, they would mate, even though there is 14 months between them, and yes, it would be wrong, and yes, in the circumstances, it would be best to have your female spayed.    Talk to your vet now, as the operation is best down half-way between seasons.

Enjoy your puppies!
