Hi,
I wonder if anyone has had any experience with their dog drinking strange things,I know they all eat strange things but this is my second Boxer who has liked drinking sea water,bubble liquid(loves to eat the bubbles but equaly loves the liquid!) and chlorinated spa water .He loves to drink from puddles,ponds etc but I would view this as normal doggy behaviour.
Obviously I try to prevent him having any of these things (especialy the sea water as it gives  him the runs!).I know dogs don't have as many taste buds as us but evan so!Do other dogs drink things like that?He is fed Nutro complete so I wouldn't have thought it is something lacking  in his diet and my last Boxer was fed something different and he did the same?
Everyone I know who owns a dog has said that their dog has never drunk anything  like it or if they did they never went back for more!!
I would be most interested to hear if this was common in Boxers.

Well, I would keep him away from the sea water and the spa, otherwise it seems normal

Sounds all pretty normal to most dogs to me - my dogs have eaten soap, drunk sea water, and when you consider it's quite normal for dogs to eat their own waste it's no wonder they don't have so many taste buds ;)

Unfortunately my daughter is oblivious to what you should do after you've been the toilet, as my dog thinks anything that holds liquid is her water bowl then i'm sure you can imagine what she does. :D

Bradley and I will be attending A A meetings soon with amount of beer and wine we consume.  I turn my attention to something else for one minute and he has a sneaky slurp.
He used to drink the bath foam,  but he is banned from the bathroom now because there is not enough room for us both in the bath.  He used to climb in and sit in front of me. That was a little to friendly for my liking.

Glazby my boxer loves to drink dirty water out of the bath - you let the plug out and he tries to beat the suction by lapping all of the water up - he really gets excited at this game!!  He is also partial to Baileys and to white wine - he sniffs it out and then Oops accidentally knocks your glass over so that he can "help" clear it up!!

He also drinks water from the loo given half the chance and is in the bad books today for upturning the kitchen bin while I was out and then decorating my kitchen, living room and stairs with all the rubbish!!
