Sorry, but since the other thread has been locked, I had to create a new one.
Which I am doing because I seem to have upset a few people with no intention of doing so.
I would like to thank you all for your replies and concerns.
I realise there is still a bit of controversy about the recognition/classification of the white sheperd.
Being Dutch myself and coming from a country where the canadian white has been considered a seperate breed for years,
I guess I have been looking upon my dog as being "different" from the more common Black and gold GSD. Also I feel I should say that
by using the term "skittish" I have colored too harsh a picture. She is not skittish in her behaviour at all when it comes to loud noises
or other unexpected events, she just for some reason does not like to be touched or "eyeballed" by people she doesnt know.
She will resort to backing off and barking, the position of her tail held low-ish, indicating her concern, but by no means agressiveness.
And I was just wondering if the white variety of GSD is more sensitive/suspicious towards strangers than the black and gold.
I guess you have answered that question for me, so again, I apologise for inadvertedly causing this discussion.
