You may have a virus.  If you can stay online long enough there is a free online virus scan at http://housecall.trendmicro.com/  It may be worth running just to check.

I have just had to buy a new pc. The  w 32 blaster and some others put paid to my other one.
It will have been on the pc a long time before you noticed how slow it is ,by the time you reach the shut down stage it is too late.
Because the pc wont stay on long enough to allow be fixed
My old one is only fit for work offline now.
The viruses are  aimed at norton I believe .So it is reckoned that a rival A.V may fix it .I dont know just what I heard Mari

You can clear a PC of a virus even when it keeps shutting down ..you just need a husband who knows how to do it :D

Hi Cup Cake

Another thing to try is to empty out your temporary internet folder (right click on your internet icon, go to properties and it should be the middle option) and also any temp files you have (my computer, c drive, somewhere in there - sorry at work and using network pc so not sure where it is!) as every time you open a file it creates a temporary copy, which takes up memory, therefore slowing down the pc.  Another thing to try to clear space is to download a program called Easycleaner by Toni Arts (do a search and you should find a free download or maybe www.toniarts.com can't remember, been a long time since I last did it).  Once downloaded do the bit to clean registry and remove unnecessary files, you will be surprised how many of them you have!  My cousin had this message and when I did all this it stopped.

Once you've done all this defrag your pc (start / programs / accessories / system tools / disk defragmenter), this will also make a difference to the running of your pc.

I hope this helps.

Earl
