Hello, I have a Golden Retriever, and she has lately started itching quite a lot. She is nearly 4, and is regularly given anti flea drops.

I am told that this is quite mormal whith Retrievers  of her age and that they do suffer from skin problems at this age.  My vet has  examined her and found little wrong. But the itching continues.  I was advised not to shampoo the dog too much to avoid washing away the natural oils in the coat. But I was wondering if there is a soothing shampoo that might ease her  itching.

Or if you have any other ideas  please......... Many thanks Sally

Why would anyone consider that any sort of itching in any sort of animal (including humans) is normal?!

Itching can be caused by any number of things, mites, allergies (food, environmental, fleas, house dust mites) etc etc.

Find the cause and eliminate it, don't just treat the symptoms!

What is she fed on?  Have you changed carpet fresheners, detergents,
