Had a good day today but was very unimpressed I'm afraid at the show itself...too cramped, not checked in or out(could have taken 2 dogs in and 10 out for all anyone cared) and I was AMAZED to see a young weim puppy being carried round the show...so couldn't have been older than 12 weeks!!!!

Hi,

I am there tomorrow with my Goldie, not good news if the rings are small,it would be nice to have decent size rings to move the dogs.GLad you had a good day anyway!

Briony :-)

The rings weren't a bad size..the benching was VERY tight.

Agree with your earlier comments - I did think the ring was rather small for a Champ show.  The top end of the triangle was done in three strides and I found it difficult to turn for the return to the judge.  There were only three other dogs in the ring, but it seemed pretty full!  I went home with a banging headache from the noise and heat.  I think we're over four days next year, so hopefully it'll be better.  I still find it a real shame that our breed no longer has CCs in the NorthWest - the only area in the country that does not have at least one set.  Sometimes pine for Belle Vue.  That was the first show we ever went to, back in 1978.
Well done on your win - your boy was looking very well!

Mind you I have put on a load of weight over Christmas ;-)

I think they were not expecting such a large entry when they booked it for 3 days.  the same number of dogs atr Midland Counties is done in 4 days I think?

Anyway well done on your olass winning the class with one of the boys.

I couldn't5 catch her eye, but kept trying to mouth, "talk to him"  when he was being distracted!!! :D :D  Shge did very well!!!

Thankyou Vanessa and Barbara for your congratulations...its been a long time coming with Kas ...at 2 just under 2 years of age he has been very consistant with being 2nd nearly every outing but has never had a win at champ level. Was sure it would come eventually cos I think hes georgeous (not that I'm bias!!) and so glad it was with Kimmi handling...her smile when she was pulled out made my day!!
I can't thank the elkie people enough for their support of Kimmi...everyone encourages her so much ...great people!!She does normally talk to the boys when showing but can panic a bit when they decide to put their head down ..she hasn't got the strength yet to pull them up  and they know it hence why I'm showing Asa at the min who was a total s##t for me!!
Glad its over 4 days next year...sure it will be a big improvement.
See you at crufts if not before

Which day did you go.  I was there with my pup on Friday for our first champ show. We came 2nd in both puppy and minor puppy (husky dogs) so we`re still bouncing around the room We turned up and 7.45am and were checked into the carpark and then checked out again at 12.30ish. The guys checked over all the paperwork and checked the car to make sure the correct no of dogs were in the back etc.  Maybe it depended on time and day.

Will agree tho that it did seem a little jam packed in there and not once did I find designated bins for dog waste etc.

I arrived at 10ish and left about 4.At every champ show I've been to you are checked in and out whatever time of day...time of day is not an excuse. The whole point is that without tickets you cannot get in OR out and so cannot take out any extra dogs.

Left early ('cause of pup at home) and my removal order was checked and the motor caravan in front they made the driver let them into the caravan to check the number of dogs, not a lot of use if they did not do it all day.

Well done to you and your daughter, thought she did very well it was not easy to show in that ring, mind you with the Sod it is not easy in any ring. Was saying only the other day how strange it is that some of a litter mature very quickly and some slowly, it is worth the wait though as they usually go on for much longer looking their best.

Vanhalla you've been showing for longer than me, Belle Vue, boy that brings back memories!!! :d  I only live 15 minutes or so away from there and can only just remember it.

The benching was so cramped I cdn't believe it.  The heaters were on today and I was absolutely boiling.  Still had a great day though, got placed but nothing exciting!!  They were more security conscious today as they did check as we were leaving.

We were there on Hound Day - Whatever would have happened, had someone shouted 'FIRE !'
No signs, no-one taking 'get-ins', doors to the Annexes initially locked. Benches were out to the walls in the Annexes. Pity the poor folks benched by the loos - anyone wishing to use them had to push along benching rows.
Ok - so the show is going to four days in 2005 but since Brum National, Midland Counties and the Hound Show can organise a show at that venue, how come Manchester can't ?
Come back G-Mex (or even BelleVue) - all is forgiven !
