Hi Everyone
I thought I'd update you on Dolly my 8 month old BC. As you probably remember I posted a few times as we had a big problem with her going up to people barking etc and wouldn't come back.
Well we decided to try something first before we paid loads of money out on a Behaviorist. When we take Dolly and Rosie for a walk we don't normally take a ball or anything as they love playing and running with each other, however just before Christmas we took a football with us and kicked it for her and she would go and chase it and wait until we did it again (by the way we didn't let Rosie as possible HD). We saw a few people just walking across the field and she totally ignored them like she just wasnt interested, we couldn't believe it, she must have been bored with going on the same walk and thought that going up to someone barking gave her a bit of excitment, like she wanted attention!!!
Also when she meets new people she's normally very wary at the start but we took her to the vet on Wednesday and she was like an angel everyone was saying hello to her and she loved it!!!, she was like a different dog all together. I think that may have something to do with the fact that she's been going there since she was a baby and doesn't feel threatend, but it was so nice not having to keep her on a really tight lead so she didn't frighten someone!!!
Anyway, just thought I'd share that with you, I know a lot of people say what hard work they are and people have so many problems with them, but as you know we have 2 and we wouldn't be without them, they are such loveable breeds and really love us back!!
xx
congratulations! I'm really glad that things are getting better, BC are the most wonderful dogs in the world aren't they, despite all their little foibles!!
