My husband and I are interested in having a siberian husky as a pet.  we have no children as yet but will be starting a family in the near future.  Are huskys a good choice of pet with children?  How much does a puppy cost?

Many thanks

Lyndsey

Hiya,
Siberian huskies cost about £600-£650. No more than that. They are good with children. Check out the siberian husky club website it has a lot of useful infomation.

One of the other main roles of the huskies years ago was to keep the tribes children warm at night. So yes they are brilliant.  Many of my fellow husky owners have young children and they all get on wonderfully (we have three sibes but no kids).

The main thing concerning huskies is to make sure you do your homework on them as they can be quite a handful if you let them plus other factors such as they can`t be let off lead etc.

There are two main husky clubs the Siberian Husky Club of GB and the Scottish Husky Club.  The scottish husky club has a bulletin board where people are encouraged to post their questions about the breed and will get lots of useful info from husky people!

Alternatively if you want to email me off line I can give you a little more info about the different types/builds of huskies that there are out there as this will influence choice of breeder
