We've had two Afghan's (boy and a girl) for the past 12 years.  The bitch has just passed away.  Should we get another bitch as company for the dog?  He's still very much like a puppy the ways he jumps around.

If you want another dog (and the commitment that goes with it) then I can't see any reason why not - had you thought about offering a home to a rescue Afghan?

You shouldn't really get a dog FOR a dog but if YOU want another one then go ahead.  There are lots of Afghans in rescue needing a home.

the remaining dog will probably be missing his pal, i think a new dog would be a good idea, whether or not you opt for a pup is up to you, a rescue could be just as demanding to train etc as a puppy! ;-)
