My 7 month old puppy has been bleeding a lot and very swollen, does this mean she's in heat?  It's just that when she goes to the toilet outside she squats about 6 times as if she's doing a wee but nothings coming out.  She's also walking funny and started to wee in the house and has trouble sitting...this has only started since she started bleeding.  Does anyone have any idea what it could all be?

Hi Shelly
Sounds like a season to me, but the walking funny and has trouble sitting, definitely doesn't sound right. If she was mine i would  take her to the vet's to get checked over, better to be safe.

Hopefully someone else more experienced with bitches will come along and advise

Think it's best.  She only walks funny when she's out trying too wee.  It maybe that she has an infection after washing herself so much, do you think this is possible?  I think she's having trouble sitting as she's so sore and swollen.  I just can't understand why she's doing the toilet in the house!  It smells real bad!  I'll phone the vets first thing.  Cheers.

Hi Shelly
I does sound like an infection to me, sorry I can't suggest anything. Good luck with the vet, let us know how you get on.

Hi yes it sounds as if she is in season and that she also has an infection so keep her away from males, and talk to your vet as it sounds as if she needs antibiotics.
