Is it possible for a puppy to vomit in fear?
My friend turned up here yesturday with her 9 week old yorkie, anyway her pup was very interested in Buffy (my 8 week old lab). The yorkie wanted to play and sniff Buffy but she tryed to get away from him. Then when he stuch his noise up her bum she threw up.

Is this normal? She isnt ill ans hasnt been sick before this or after.

I have seen dogs, stimulate another dog to regurgitate their food.  this is done I think my lickign around the mouth?

Have they both been innoculated? If not i wouldn't have put them together anyway you can't be too careful.

I was going to say it isn't wise to let them go together as neither of them will have had full innoculations.

They probably were just over excited and if your pup had just been fed then that is probably why she threw up.

I hadnt intended on her meeting any other dogs yet, i havent seen my mate for a while and she just popped up on the chance i was in, she didnt know that we had got a pup.

I was just wondering one thing tho...if inoculations are so inmportant for a dog before coming into contact with other dogs why would my vet hold puppy classes for pups aged 8-14 weeks when they dont give the first jab untill the pup is 9 weeks old.
There is 14 pups at these parties. I know that dogs need to be socalised before 16 weeks but surely this would be a bit of a risk.

Most pups of this age would actually still be covered by the immunity inherited from their mothers (assuming their mothers were immune).  Vets vaccinate at the stage where the inherited immunity is begining to fall.

Maybe your pup wasn't actually trying to get away from her new friend, but actually trying to find somewhere quiet to throw up?
