Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Are rescues elligable for showing

I have two rescued Staffs and for some fun wouldn't mind showing them but I don't know if I can.  Both my dogs are members of the Companion Dog Club and I have trained them the basics such as Sit, Lay down, Stay, Wait, Find.

Are they elligable for show in locall shows and in what category?

I would appreciate some help as always

Depends what sort of shows you wants to do.  Unless you have all the KC paperwork you will not be able to attend open or championship conformation shows, though you could enter companion (exemption) shows which are normally held as fete fundraisers and the like - these shows are normally good fun as they hold novelty classes too - eg waggiest tail, prettiest bitch.
You are also able to enter obedience and agility competitions, providing you register on the Kennel Club working register, costs under a tenner I think, both my Crossbreeds are on this

Championship shows aren't really for me but I will try exemption shows.  Thanks for your help.  I'll find out when the next exemption show is and see if I can enter.

You can enter an exemption/companion show on the day.
