i would be very interested in hearing any stories of your strange dog behavior?
ffor example;
our border collie bitch aged 4 years, barks to a rhythem when asked it started when youngest child was asleep and dog barked we would say bonnie shhhhhoooossss baby asleep so shed bark quietly more like a bruff than woof.
if our friends come she jumps to the window so we say back door and she goes to the back door to greet them
if we count from 1 to 10 with our kids playing hide and seek the dog gets excited and watches us till we get to ten then say ready or not and the dog runs round the house looking for the kids then barks when she finds them.
our 9 week old gs bitch the other day was trying to learn sit and gently to take a treat from my hubby, she does try and give her paw but this night she was scratching hubbys leg so he told her to get her paw down, wwelllll the collie also was sitting next to her and she put her paw on top of the pups and pushed her down, we freaked with laughter but she did it again and again?
if there is any truth to an afterlife then we swear that our border could have been once human.

Our Mastiff will push the other dogs away from the baby gate when we tell them to get down. She is Alpha dog of the pack of 5 that we have. She will come to us if one of the other dogs have done something wrong and 'grass' them up. We know which dog has misbehaved as we have cctv in their room.
If we ask her what she wants i.e- "do you want a drink?" she will lean down with her bot in the air and make a grumbling sound that sounds like 'yes' or 'no'.If we think it sounds like no it usually means no.
She also 'talks' to Chewbakka when my partner watches Star Wars. She sounds so much like him I think he would understand what she says.
She also stops any altercations between the other dogs by picking up the offending JRT by the head and taking it into the kitchen.
When I come in the room she 'says' "Mam" and everyone understands that one.
When the JRT's p**s her off she puts her paw over their middle and holds them down whilst grmbling in their ear, I'm sure she is saying "I'm too old for all this carry on".
Our Bullmastiff opens the fridge so the JRT's can help themselves. He doesn't take anything so he thinks he's done no wrong. He did this the other day and my ferret ate all my double cream and nearly died as they are milk intolerant.

OMG my girl isn't half as intelligent as yours :D all she does similar is sits with her bum/back legs on the chair with her front legs on the floor. She always does this around 7-8pm (it's generally the only time i sit down to watch tv) but i think it's a dane trait rather than human!

Taz (2 year staff) grasses bailey (11 week staff) up too. When bailey is doing something he shouldn't ie has a shoe or something taz runs to find his mum (me) and sits looking at me crying, so i follow him and catch bailey in the act!! he's my spy no cctv for me!!
when taz was younger, and i had my friends baby some weekends, he was my monitoring system, he'd fetch me if she made any noises even if i was in the room!!! :)
during the night when she was taken from her moses basket and put into bed, taz would jump in her basket and sleep in it!! little sod!! it doubled my washing!! but it was sooooooooooooo cute.
he still sleeps with us but he has to sleep under the covers, and if me or my partner are still talking he huffs very loudly to let us know he's not happy he's trying to sleep, and once we've laughed at him we do go to sleep!! he's our clock too!!!!!
because he has been an only dog for 2 years and has grown up with humans i do think he thinks he is human, when he sits on your knee (3 1/2 stone but still loves to do it) he lifts his two front paws up and sits bolt upright.
in the car, he sits looking out the window with his paw resting on the window and his head resting on the paw!
He is excellent with the shopping, he loves to carry things into the house for me from the car!! He is so surprised by his own reflection in a mirror because i'm convinced he thinks he looks human too! :) :P :)

Well it's funny but when I talk to Cops and ask him questions and stuff, he puts his head on one side like he's listening to me and then he opens and shuts his mouth like he's trying to talk but no words are coming out! He's no daftie for sure. I personally think that animals have been here before - too much of us in them or maybe the other way round???

I have to agree with dogs being more human than people think. My pup is onyl 12 weeks old but god, is he clever. He dosent like it when myself and my hubby have a cuddle on the couch, and this evening we were discussing it. Sam looked up at us, got off his couch turned his back to us had one final look around and then sauntered off to his bed in the other room! At this point we werent even having a cuddle!
But.... he still knew that we were talking about him.:-)
