I took mine and my friends GSD's to be hip scored recently to the Wanitopa in Southampton. My dog went first and then my friends dog, who we had to do twice. When the x-rays were ready, I went to see them and the radiographer and she showed me what she said was my dogs x-rays and told me it would be no more than a total of 6, she then showed me the other x-rays and said that they would be double the other one. The scores have come back, as my friends dog having a 0:2 score and mine having a 4:6!! Is there anything I can do to get this looked at again. The lady that batched them all up all when we had finished made mistakes and I am just starting to wonder if she put the wrong x-rays to the forms.

The dogs registration number is marked on the plates so if a mistake was made it would have been if you handed over the first dog with both registration certificates or forms, and not when the plates were sent off. Would add that I have not met a vet yet that got it right, my vet, who is an orthopaedic referral specialist, does not even try to tell you a score. Both scores seem OK so would not worry, they will rescore but only the same plates and that result is final even if it is worse, if the plates are not good enough the will not score in the first place but they may not know if the dog was not presented correctly on the table before the plate was taken, and that can effect the result.

I didn't know about the dogs registration number being on the plates. Thanks for that Jackie, you have put my mind at rest.

All those I have had done have the number sort of x-rayed on to the plate, and I have had them done a 2 different vets.

The reg no has to be on the plates or the BVA send them back
I took my five year old bitch to be x-rayed and was told by my vet that the hips looked good for her age although the vet could not suggest what the result would be. They came back 2.2 so I was very pleased. I think the scores you have mentioned for your dog and your friends dog are good and well below the breed average so I dont think you have much to worry about. As mentioned in a previous post a vet cannot tell you what the score would be they can only state that the hips look good or bad.
