I have been to cyprus 3 times, once to protaris and twice to limasol.....
protaris is very pretty, lovely beaches a bit like the bounty advert but quiet, there's is no night life as such just small bars but Aya napa is about a 15min ride in a taxi, and is very busy there. price wise not too bad :)
limasol isn't as pretty or as clean, there is plenty of night life and loads of cockroaches

Hi Michelle
Really it sought of depends on what you call expensive and what sought of wedding your after and also whereabout in cyprus you want to go.
I've been to Ayia Napa several times now and got married there myself in sept 2002.
Something to think about is you don't have to book the hotels in the wedding brochures, you can simply choose your apartments/hotel then put the wedding on top, and then book all the extras when you get there. This is what I did and saved myself over £1000. The travel agents don't advertise that this can be done.

Hi Alison :)
Thanks for the details its much appreciated we have looked into a couple of hotels and wedding packages and the cheapest we have found was 4,200 for the two of us including wedding package thats all inclusive for two weeks, which I didn't think was too bad?? You mentioned that you organised some of the things whilst you were there did this cause any problems? Also if you don't mind me asking who did you book yours through I would just like to look at as many options as possible .
Thanks again

Hi Michelle
We booked the holiday with Lunn Poly through Jmc, you can just choose any hotel or apartments on resort, and then add the wedding package. You don not have to choose a hotel out of the wedding brochure.
I went s/c in very nice apartments and that cost £1300 for us two and my two children, then the wedding package added on was just £169 for civil wedding or £369 for church wedding. The only thing included in the wedding package though is the ceremony itself no cake flowers or reception. So far everything mentioned was english pounds. I chose a civil wedding as my other half is catholic and i'm C of E so that complicated things for us, because churchs in Cyprus have quite strict rules.
With JMC you do get a wedding co-ordinator who does absolutely everything for you, once the wedding itself is booked over here you don't do anything else until you arrive in Cyprus. Apart from buy the dress of course :D
Once in Cyprus the co-ordinator gives you a day to settle in, then visits you and tells you what's on offer. She can arrange everything else, cakes flowers cars horse and carriage depending wht part of cyprus you are in (not available in Ayia Napa)even a hairdresser, photographer a wedding video if that's what you want.
Read all this for starter's and I'll dig the price list out and post again in a few mins.

Hi Michelle
Can't find the price list just now, but I know it's here somewhere so will post them when I find it. What part of Cyprus were you looking at?? The only all inclusive hotels in Ayia Napa I know off are the olympic lagoon ( I think it's called that ) and Adam's beach something. Both these are very nice and within the price range you've mentioned, however if you want to have a few nights in Ayia Napa both these hotels are at least 2.5 KM away you are talking about 8cyp for a taxi, which is roughly £10 our money.
Oh, on top of the £169 for the wedding package you have the licence fee to pay when you go arrange the time of wedding on resort which was 165cyp.
Any way if you want to know any more details either email me or send me a PM.

hi, i went to paphos, my cousin had her wedding there and it was all done perfectly, in a church and they arranged the wedding cake, very nice place to get married, paphos is one of the quiter resorts but very historical and does have some night life but not like ayia napa, there beaches are great especially coral bay not far from paphos harbour, its beautiful, the taxi fares are quite cheap too, dont cost much to get around i found, also i thought the general cost was quite reasonable but that was 5 years ago and i think things might have changed by then, but paphos is a wonderful place to get married i think my cousins wedding was wonderful and went off great.
you can visit the place where aphrodite (sp) was supposed to have risen ( very romantic) there is also tombs of the kings and other stuff, anyways that my view and i would definately go back there without hesitation, enjoyed it loads especially the shops!!!!
love

Hi Kez :)
Thanks for the reply on Cyprus your input was much appreciated :D I must admit I haven't heard too much negative about Cyprus and I am really looking forward to it.
