could anybody tell me how to keep the brown eye stain under control on our bichon frise. Contact presidentbcf@aol.com

Wipe the stain with a solution of bicarbonate of soda. Take care not to get it in the dog's eyes!
:)

Jeangenie the bi-carb solution, can you tell me what it is. Thanks

Hi, yes get some ordinary bicarbonate of soda (from the home baking section in the supermarket) and dissolve about a teaspoonful in a cup of warm water. Bathe the discoloured hair with this - it seems to work well on both saliva stains and tear stains. I don't know if it would sting in the eyes, so best to take care not to get it in!
:)

thankyou am definatley going to give it a try

We used to buy 'Diamond Eyes' for our toy poodle. You should be able to get this at most pet shops. If used every day it should make a difference.
Hope this helps.

Hi
I have used Diamond eye & found it really good although my pet store said it was discontinued when I called in this week, anyone know if it is still available?

Hi Pauline, that would explain why I can't find it anywhere. I have however tried Jeangenie's Bicarb solution and I've found it works very well.

Hi
I will have a go at the bicarb myself.
regards Pauline
Cold tea (without the milk and sugar ;) ) is what I've found to work best.
I've used Diamond eye and it didn't make any difference...the Bicarb made a little difference...but the cold tea is great.
I know, I can't work out how something that can stain, can clear up stains, either, but I've been using it for over a week now and there's a big difference! :)
Edit: Just in case you're wondering....Tetleys!! :D
