Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / eating once a day
- By Samw [gb] Date 10.01.04 17:50 UTC
Hi all.
Mad monty is now 8 months old (cant believe its flown by!!) He is worrying me slightly with his eating habits
We put down dry food for him in the morning and sometimes he doesnt even sniff it til late afternoon. We dont feed him any other food apart from a couple of markies in the day. He is not underweight, bouncy as ever and coat is great but just wont eat til late afternoon evening.
Can someone set my mind at ease and let me know if this is ok. We change his food from iams to bakers every few days so he has some variation and doesnt get bored!

thanks

Hi sam,
i think you will find it is fine to feed once a day, i feed Toby bakers, i wouldnt feed iams though there has been lots of bad things said about iams on C/D i think one was they test on animals,

THere are very few animal feeds companies that have not been implicated in this way; if you want to make sure your pet food is ethical go to the BUAV site for info.

Bakers has a lot of "extras" like salt, sugars, food colourings that at best dogs do not need and at worst may be harmful in the long run.  Have a look at the Burns web site or Naturediet sites for information on commercial dog foods that contain only "food".
