Hi all

I had to go out today and leave Buffy (our 7 week old lab) on her own for the first time. I locked her in the kithen and made sure that there was nothing small on the floor, i left her with all her toys. I messed up big time and forgot to take out the rubbish, anyway when i have got in a few hours later she has torn the bag to peaces. The problem is that she has eaten the dirty contents of my sons nappy. I am not worried about the poo but i am worried that she may have eaten some of the nappy itself. Her belly feels a bit big but other than that she is her normall self, running round and chewing her toys.

Has this happened to anyone else and do you think that i should take her to the vet?

Thanks Debbie

It might be worth getting her down to get an examination as she is so small as it could well lead to a blockage and at such a young age could be very bad.

Let us know how you get on.

HI Lucy.

I phoned my vet for advice and she said not to worry just keep an eye on her for a day or two and she should pass the nappy in that time.
She also said that labs have tummies of steel and are terrible for eating everything and anything.

Buffy was so stuffed after her bin feast that she was unable to eat her dinner although she tryed really hard. lol.

Anyway she has had a poo and some of the nappy came out in that, hopefully by tomorrow night she should have passed the rest. But i will still watch her like a hawk for the next few days, and i think that from now on when i have to go out she will come with me or go and sit with a freind.

Thank you for replying.
