Ever since getting her a month ago my pup has been scarred of loud noises.
Shes ten weeks now an still runs when she hears a bag.
When we came in today she was shaking with fear because the window cleaner had been.

Gaz I am sure somebody will be along soon to help you. your puppy is a baby & will have all different sounds to get used to. Give her plenty cuddles (my answer to everything) & enjoy her. Hoovers, washing machines, traffic when she starts to get out,  lots of different experiences which are all part of her learning.

What breed is she? What do you do when she is frightened?
:)

Could be this pup is 12 week old and they can take fright like this around this age. Lets hope the pups owner comes back and lets us have some more detail about the pup

I'm not the original one with the scared puppy but advice would be helpful to me. My bitch dalmation is 9 month old, I have had her 3 months now, I got her from a friend whos two other dogs couldn't get along with her. She was kept outside in a kennel with these other two dogs (labradors)
She is frightened of loud noises, hoover, some people (window cleaner, park warden) I try to ignore it and just continue doing what I'm doing. I've had her to training classes which was very sucessful as she didn't even know her name when I got her, wasn't toilet trained, couldn't sit,  I took it this is because she was kennelled. She has no behaviour problems but is scared of a lot of things. Is this because she wasn't brought up in a house and familiarised with these things in her first few months?

spotty dog - quite possibly. However, i have two dogs, one was brought up in kennels until we got her at 9 weeks, and the other was brought up in a busy family home from birth. Yet both have always been afraid of the vaccuum cleaner. I think perhaps your dog may have a slightly nervous nature, which will not have helped matters, as well as a lack of early socialisation during the first few months. However at 9 months, you will still be able to help change things, although she may always be a little wary of some things if it is her temperament.

Sorry about the delay, shes 12 weeks and shes a staff. She either cowers or runs away if she can. shes getting better but is still scarred of cars and buses.
