I recently got an 8 month old male chinese crested (hairless) hes already the love of my life! I have a question, hope its not a stupid one but remember I'm new at this. Before I got him I studied the breed via info on the internet. However I saw nothing about hairy hairless verses less hair hairless and mine seems to have far less hair than those pictured on most sites. Does the length and thickness of these dogs plumes vary a great deal from dog to dog? Is there an age where its grown to its full amount? Not that he isn't simply adorable just thought he'd have a lot more head, paw, & tail hair from examples I saw. Also he has a musky smell to him tho I bathe him once a week and lotion him regularly, within a day the smell is back yet I'd read they have no doggie oder. Just wondered if anyone had any answers. Hes my buddy already and I'm in doggie love, but still learning about this breed. Thanks
