All dogs can bloat.

yes, all dogs can bloat, some are more susseptable than others, and the lab seems to be one of them, tho not as bad as say the Gr Dane.
deep chested dogs tend to be the biggest victims.

So does that mean that my lab should rest after eating?

After she eats all she wants to do is bound about like a nutter.

Thanks

Yes unfortunately they do, deep chested dogs are more prone to it. I never let mine have any excercise before or after they`ve eaten, its in their beds & sleep time, the bounding round only lasts for a few mins & then they settle down :)

yep, even in dogs not susseptable, it is best to exercise 1st, wait half an hour or so  till they have cooled off then feed. It can help to soak food too for prone breeds, if they are fed kibble
