I have an 11 month westie he is a great dog but he does a couple of strange things he drinks out of puddles and licks the kitchen walls.  When its raining he drinks the water from the bottom of the kids slide and other toys ( fresh water always available) he also has started licking the paiont on the kitchen walls is this normal?

     My dog would think that's normal!  Even though I always have a bowl of fresh water for in the garden when the dogs go outside, he would sooner drink the stale water from my barrel, which has been in there for days.  In the summer I have a fountain in it, so he stays away from it then!
