Has anybody got a solution to my six month puppy chewing the fur off my older dog's ears? My older dog is a cavalier king charles spaniel and had beautiful long ears but my puppy has been chewing the fur on one of the ears when left alone together. My cavalier looked very handsome with his long ears but I have had to cut the other one down so he doesn't look odd with the shorter chewed ear! My puppy is also a cavalier. Has this happened to anybody else? Any help would be appreciated as my older dog's ears are getting shorter and shorter. Thanks.

Hopefully it is the hair that is getting shorter not the ears :D

Yes, it is just the hair. I'm sure Toby wouldn't allow Sam (puppy) to go that far!

Firstly make sure the pup has access to plenty of things suitable for a teething pup - raggers are good, as are Kongs....... Then make the other dogs ears less tasty - bitter apple spray (make sure it doesn't go in the dogs eyes) usually works, although some dogs get a taste for it :(
