Hi I give my puppy Pedigree Chum puppy complete food, once a day at lunch, at breakfast he has scrambled egg or baby rusk and goats milk, at supper time he has some kind of cold fresh meat, from reading other posts on here I don't think i'm doing a lot right am I?  He seems to enjoy it and is thriving, not ever so keen on dry food but eats it slowly.  He always has goats milk and has never had cows milk, any advice?  We live near a good Pet shop that stocks most food and can quite easily obtain an alternative, when do I stop with the cooked breakfast and is fresh meat in the evening ok?

IMHO there is no need for any dog, adult or puppy, to eat milk or baby rusk; puppies can cope with faw meaty bones such as chicken wings from 5/6 weeks old so there is no need to treat them like a toothless  baby or invalid :(

You don't say if your fresh meat is cooked or raw.  Meat alone will not provide the calcium requirements for a dog.  If you do feed raw you will need to include bones.

If you would like to feed a complete food it may be worth considering Naturediet (a complete wet food which consists of meat, rice and carrots) or Burns ( a complete dry food containing meat, rice and vegetables) I would personally not use the version containing sugar beet as it can cause fermentation in some animals.

I feed raw and therefore choose not to feed commercial food at all however whatever you choose to feed your dog remember that "less is more" and that the fewer ingredients in the make up the easier it is to identify if your dog has any problems with any of the ingredients.

Why not keep your puppy on one type of complete for a while until you are happy with his progress?

Have to agree, once weaned a pup does not need milk, they may like it but don't need it.
