Is it normal for a westie to have pink skin?  Becks paws and legs are very pink and look sore but he doesnt seem bothered by them.  There are no cuts or scabs or anything like that so am I worrying about nothing?  He is prone to licking them when he is tired.

Sounds as if it is just lack of pigmentation, which is nothing to worry about. WHWT should "preferably" have black pads, so if he hasn't, you would expect it to be pink.

He has black pads, its the skin under his fur on his legs that is pink

Hi Becksmum, my westie had pink skin on his feet and armpits, he did the same and licked.  It was never a major problem so we just left it alone, but he recently had to have a course of antibiotics for something else and its cleared up.  Westies are prone to skin problems so if you are really worried about it you could have a trip to the vets.  Hes got white skin not black.

I keep hearing on the board that WHWT's are prone to skin problems - are they all the same type of problems and does anyone know why?
